Thelma Lucado Almond, 81, of Appomattox died Monday, October 29, 2012 in Appomattox Health and Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Ray Welford Almond.
Born in Appomattox County, Virginia on July 17, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Lawson Lucado and Lola Page Glover. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a retired seamstress with Appomattox Garment Factory.
Thelma is survived by two children, Steve Almond and wife Becky and Cindy Watson and husband Stewart all of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Michael Watson and wife Megan of South Boston, Jonathan Watson and wife Michelle of Appomattox, and Phillip Watson of McLean, VA; three step-grandchildren, Allison Roedder and husband Chad, Jill Lawson and Mark Lawson; four great grandchildren, Hayden Watson and William, Victoria, and Isaac Watson, and four step-great grandchildren, Destiny and Becca Lawson, Chapman and Mim Roedder.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jonathan Watson and the Rev. Paul Kvasnicka. Burial will follow in Old Herman Cemetery.
The family will receive friend at the funeral home Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Cindy and Stewart Watson, 336 Cedar Lane, Appomattox.
