Ted O'Dell Farmer

Ted O’Dell Farmer, 75, of Appomattox passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was the husband of Nancy Coleman Farmer.

Born in Marion, VA, on June 10, 1950, he was the son of Ola McGrady Farmer and James Arthur Farmer. He was a longtime member of Spotswood Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA and was a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Mary Washington Trauma Center for 26 years. Ted was a former member of Prince Edward and Fredericksburg Rescue Squads and a founding member of the Fredericksburg Nationals Baseball Team. Ted loved baseball, coaching his daughter Shannon’s team, fishing, and growing the best lawn around.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and John Maurer and Leigh Ann and Justin Davis; his mother-in-law, Esther F. Coleman and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Reedy Lundsford and Iva Barker and a brother, Breece Farmer.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Hollywood Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Tucker Boyer and Pastor Steve Tyree. Burial will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
