Sylvia Wolfe Ferrell

Sylvia Wolfe Ferrell, 91, of Appomattox, formerly of Hot Springs, VA, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Babcock Manor. She was the wife of the late John Ernest Ferrell, Sr.
Born January 8, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Jesse L. Wolfe and Lucy Pritt Wolfe. Sylvia retired in 1993 after working 40 years for the Homestead Laundry and Valet.
Sylvia is survived by a very loving and dedicated daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Bobby Roach of Appomattox; 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, two half-sisters, and four half-brothers. She was preceded in death by two sons, John E. Ferrell, Jr., and Robert L. Ferrell, three brothers, a half brother, two sisters, and one grandson.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Babcock Manor for all the years of excellent care and love shown to Sylvia. Also a special thanks to Hospice of the Hills and staff. God bless all of you.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday March 9, 2009, at Warm Springs Cemetery with the Rev. William "Bill" Shorter officiating. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2009, from 3:00 until 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 823, Lynchburg VA, 24505, Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave, Lynchburg VA, 24503, or your favorite charity.
