Susan "Oochie" Noble Woodroof, 70, of Forest, VA, formerly of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Born on January 17, 1955, in Williamstown, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Janet Hinrichs Noble and the late Ray Noble. Susan dedicated her life to the nutritional health of residents in nursing homes. She was a former member of Appomattox County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
In addition to her mother, Janet, she is survived by three children, Alisa Blankenship and husband, Tim, Tanya Mitchell and husband, Lewis, and JJ Foster and wife, Susan; step-son, Brent Woodroof and Keri Kehoe; nine grandchildren, Jeremy St. John and wife, Amy, Sarah Blankenship, Carley Mitchell, Skylar Kidd and Zaay Ware, Chase Mitchell, Jack Foster, Carter Mitchell, Owen Foster, and Peter Foster; four great-grandchildren, Ian St. John, Khylin Ware, Molly St. John, and Gavin St. John; and three siblings, Thom Noble and wife, Linda, Bill Noble and wife, Pat, and Jill Blouch and husband, Greg.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

She passed after her daughter read the following:
"Death need not be cause for ultimate dismay.
Death is not, and will never be, the end.
Christ has already seen to that.
There is joy that awaits.
There is a hope that lights this darkness.
There is a journey that leads us inevitably to the great declaration:
Christus Victor!
Christ victorious!
Christ has conquered death!
All praise be his.
All glory, his own."
