Susan (Sue) Armontrout Martin, 61, of Old Grist Mill Rd., died Tuesday, Febraury 17, 2009 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Samuel R. Martin.
Born in Bedford, September 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Lena Armontrout. Sue was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Sam, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lissa and Chris Comeau of Bristow; a son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Rhonda Martin of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Grace, Drew, Joseph, and Jake; a brother, Charles Armontrout of Lynchburg; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Carolyn Martin; nieces, Melissa Viohl and husband, Rob, Cindy Mitchell and husband, Lee, Dawn Walker and husband, Brian; nephews, Brian Armontrout and wife, Christine and Brett Martin.
She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Gloria Armontrout.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm in Trinity United Methodist Church, 1975 Trinity Rd., Concord, by the Rev. Robert Thorne. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Trinity UMC Building Fund, PO Box 522, Concord, VA 24538.
