Steven Caleb Purcell, 19, of Richmond Highway, Pamplin, died January 20, 2018.

Born in Lynchburg, October 10, 1998, he was a son of Steven Woodrow Purcell and Shaunna Jamerson Brown and husband, Ben. Caleb was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. He was a 2017 graduate of Cornerstone Christian Academy. Caleb was a wonderful person and a friend to many. He was a ray of sunshine and possessed the ability to make everyone around him smile and laugh. It was his God-given talent. He loved hunting and was known to many by his hunting handle "Draws". He also enjoyed fishing, music, dancing and shopping. Caleb had an impeccable style all his own.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Behringer Brown only known to Caleb as Pooter of Appomattox; paternal grandparents, Raymond Woodrow Purcell of Callao and Nancy Wilcox and Buddy Wilcox of Appomattox; maternal grandparents, Margie and Raymond Hatcher of Pamplin and Charles and Relinda Jamerson of Spout Spring; great-grandmother, Naomi B. Stratton of Appomattox; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Emmett W. Jamerson and Patsy A. Jamerson, Frank Brennan and Nancy H. Pelikan; paternal great-grandparents, Lewis and Mary Elder and Raymond Purcell.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church, with Pastor Aaron Wills and Pastor S.L. Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bryant Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residences of Margie and Raymond Hatcher and S.L. Ferguson.
