Shirley McCormick Robertson, 80, of Red Bird Drive, Gladstone, was set free from this life on Saturday, February 18, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Curtis W. Robertson, Jr.
Born in Buckingham County, Va., on October 26, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Phelps and William Douglas McCormick. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. Shirley was an avid gardener and loved to cook and share her delicious food with family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Curtis W. Robertson, Sr. and wife, Janice; two daughters, Pamela D. Mason and husband, David and Cindy R. Raymond all of Appomattox; 10 grandchildren, Curtis William Robertson, Jr. and Karin, Lauren Mackay Jiracek and Joshua, Ashley Pijanowski and Les, Brittany Mann, Richard Mason, Faye Raymond and A. J., Haley Raymond, Athena Raymond, Ronald Moye, and Stephen Moye; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bailey D. "Tick" McCormick and wife, Jean of Gladstone; a sister, Betty Doss of Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two favorite four-legged fur babies, Angel and Sonny.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Harry M., William D., Samuel (Guy), Malcolm (Tom), Ernest (Dooley), and Emmett (Pee Wee) McCormick and a sister, Rosa Lee Neas.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Curtis Walkup. Burial will follow in the Robertson Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 7-8:30 p.m.
