Shirley Ann Davis Preas, 77, of Hill-n-Dale Drive died at her residence Thursday September 10, 2015. She was the wife of Jonathan Clyde Preas for over 61 years.
Shirley was born on November 7, 1937 a daughter of the late Lucy Hodges and Felix Thornton Davis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Concord where she served on the Food Service Committee, a member of Concord Happy Hearts and traveled with the 50 Plus Choir of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Shirley was a Controller at Thomasville Furniture for 28 years and a former employee in food service at Rustburg Middle School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children; a daughter, Linda Darnell Preas Parrish and husband, Larry of Portsmouth and a son, David Wayne Preas and wife, Allison Shull of Suffolk; a sister, Priscilla Elaine Davis Barbour and husband, Zane of Gretna; her uncle, Jimmy Davis of Lynchburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday September 14, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, Concord officiated by the Rev. Chad Harris and the Rev. Tommy Willis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 4-5:30pm Sunday September 13 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
