Obituary

Shirley Austin Harvey, 77, of Redfields Rd., Appomattox, died Saturday, November 27, 2010, at her residence. She was the wife of Lewis Glover Harvey.
Born in Lynchburg, on August 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Katie Ferguson and Floyd H. Austin. Shirley was a retired AFLAC Agent and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters; Linda H. Kidd, Sue Francis and her former husband Steve Francis, Anita H. Hubbard and her husband Robert of Appomattox, Charlene Mitchell and her husband David of Redhouse; one brother, Edward A. (Buster) Austin and his wife Evelyn of Evergreen; one sister, Mrs. Robert M. (Doris) Canada of Phenix; six grandchildren, Darin and Cheryl Kidd, Brad and Crystal Kidd, Brandon and Destiny Kidd, Gina Robertson, Robbie and Ashleigh Hubbard; thirteen great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Wyatt, Riley, Kinley, Bradley, Dylan, Hayley, Cayden, Chloe and Lindsey Kidd, Tye and Jaden Robertson. Her devoted caregiver Daisy Green, former son-in-law Steve Tanner, and her faithful Chihuahua "Little Bit."
Shirley was preceded in death by a son-in-law Percy Kidd.
Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m., Tuesday, November 30,2010, at Liberty Baptist Church by Rev. Rusty Small and Rev. Daniel Dockery, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30p.m., Monday, November 29, 2010, at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
