Shirley Marie Elliott King, 78, of Paulette Lane, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Roy Lee King, Sr. for 64 years.
Born in Clarke County, Va., on July 5, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Carrie Chapman and Amiel Ray Elliott.
She is survived by three sons, Roy Lee King, Jr and Carrie, of Elam, Douglas Ray King and wife, Cathy of Evergreen and David Shayne King of Florida; three daughters, Sharon Marie Coleman of Vera, Caroline Lynn Thompson and husband, Charlie and Sheila Dawn Baker and husband, Jon all of Charlotte Court House; 10 grandchildren, Kelly Mitchell and husband, Matt, Coy Coleman, Christopher King, Tyler Lang, Ryan King, Faith King, Jonathan King, Heather Lease, Stacy Thompson and Brittney Thompson; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla Garrett, Kameron Garrett, Kenlee Garrett, Isaac Coleman, Asher Coleman, Christopher King, Jr., Savannah King, Reanna King, and Gabby King; two sisters, Joyce Elliott and Debbie Newcomb; and three brothers, William Elliott, Charles Elliott, and Amiel Elliott, Jr.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Marie King; a grandson, Michael Thomas King; three sisters, Eleanor Stoneburner, Becky Wyndham, and Christine Brooks; and a brother, Roy Elliott.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2017 at Liberty Cemetery by the Rev. Jonathan Watson.
