Sheldon Clarence Whittaker, 66, of Carwile Road, Rustburg, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at his residence. He was the husband of Verta Kress Whittaker.

Born in Williamson, West Va., on August 5, 1953, he was a son of the late Emogene Lydel and Sheldon Carl Whittaker. He was a former employee of the Lynchburg Foundry.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, William Clarence Whittaker, Sr. of Rustburg and Jennifer Wood of Bedford; four grandchildren, Devin Christopher Wood, Aaron Chase Wood, William Clarence Whittake, Jr., and Bryson Lee Whittaker; and a special nephew, Bryan Mosley.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Jean Mosley and a son-in-law, Anthony Cecil Wood.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 4 until 6 p.m., on Saturday, March 7, 2020 and other times at the residence.
