Shelby Jean McCormick Belcher, 79, of Evergreen, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Heritage Green. She was the wife of Harold Wilson Belcher.

Born in Appomattox County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Florence Olds Tyree and William Benjamin McCormick. She was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Richard Lee Tinnell; three daughters, Janice Marie Poates, Charlotte Ann Tinnell, Denise Dianne Tinnell; two step daughters, Susan Ann Lawson and Deborah Ann Bryant; a sister, Carol Hope Staton; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death two sons, Ronald Wayne Tinnell and Donald Wade Tinnell and a step-son, Harold William "Bud" Belcher.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Evergreen United Methodist Church by Rev. Marsha Davis.
