Sarah Davis Taylor, 86, of Lynchburg, Va., entered the presence of the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at her residence. She was the loving and devoted wife of Earl Stuart Taylor for 65 years.

Born on August 8, 1939, in Appomattox County, she was the daughter of the late John C. “Jack” Davis, Sr. and Anne O’Brien Davis. Sarah spent her life as a homemaker and loved being around her family. She always found great joy in caring for the children of family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” T. Coleman (Bill) of Boydton, Va.; her son, Earl S. “Chuck” Taylor II (Bonnie) of Madison Heights, Va.; her four grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Yay Yay”, Macon Coleman of Daleville, Va., Brandon Coleman (Alex) of Boydton, Va., Cody Taylor, and Robin Taylor both of Madison Heights, Va.; her sister, Carolyn D. Smith (Sonny) of Appomattox, Va.; brother-in-law, Robert O. “Bob” Godsey of Rustburg, Va.; nieces and nephews, Pam Paulette (Gus), Brenda C. Martin, and J.T. Carter (Angie); and great nieces and nephews, who fondly called her “Say Say”, Claire Paulette, Lauren Benito (Eric), Afton Jamerson, Gabriella Carter, and Devon Godsey.

She will also be missed by her sweet dog, Heidi.

She was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Davis; two sisters, Shirley D. Morris and Nancy D. Godsey; niece, Cindy Smith; and nephew, David Godsey.

A service will not be held at this time.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Mary Beth Wilbun, Nayar Hospice, and her caregiver, Deborah Dodson for helping make her final days at home peaceful.
