Obituary
Sarah Pentecost May, 94, of Red House, passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clarence Jay May.
Born in Appomattox County, January 31, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Minnie Kate Pankey and Thomas Edward Pentecost. Sarah was a dedicated member of Providence Baptist Church of Red House. She worked for many years alongside her husband on their tobacco farm. Sarah was a wonderful cook, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two grandsons, John May and wife, Amanda and Adam May and wife, Rebecca; three great-grandchildren, Abigail May, Meritt May and Irene May; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Cecil L. May and a brother, Carroll E. Pentecost.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home.
