Sandra Zinserling Payne, 79, of Appomattox, died peacefully Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Louis George Payne.

Born in State College, Penn., on February 26, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Marie Katherine John and Rudolph Zinserling. Sandra was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Centereach Volunteer Fire Department, and was a Commissioner of the Centereach Fire District

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene E. and Maurice Page of Appomattox and Denise C. and Jeffrey Lewis of Long Island, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; a sister, Kaye M. Kramer and husband, Keith of Wake Forest, NC; and a brother, Ronald J. Zinserling and wife, Earline of Utica, N.Y.

A funeral service will be held 11 am, Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Rusty Small. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 17, 2015, from 7– 8:30 pm.
