Mrs. Sandra Thackston Best, 75, of Leeds Lane passed away Thursday, October 28 ^th , 2021 at her home. She was born in High Point, N.C. on Jan. 25th, 1946, to James Henry Thackston and Alice Maude Ranson Thackston.  On April 9 ^th , 1993 she married the love of her life, Edward T. Best. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18th, 2008. Mrs. Sandra was a member of Twin City Bible Church in Winston-Salem, NC where she was loved by all, adults and children. She organized and hosted a women's prayer group for a number of years as well as participated in the Care Group at Twin City. She retired from Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in 2014 after over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends whom she loved and who loved her very much.  She loved God's creation which could be seen in her passion for gardening, bird feeding/watching and the love of her cats and day trips to the mountains. She also enjoyed reading, cooking & baking, and crocheting.  Mrs. Best was a wonderful Godly wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all her family and friends.

She is survived by children Leigh Guertin; Kenneth and wife, LeAnn Moser; Sherry and husband, Wayne Clubb; Janet and husband, Richard Rigsbee; Jeff and wife, Rebecca Blackmon, and Marilyn Best; grandchildren Kari and husband, Chris; Elizabeth and Conner; David and wife, Emily; Lauren; Daniel and Bradley; Rachel, Sean and Tyler and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, November 1 ^st , 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery in Appomattox, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13 ^th , at Twin City Bible Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Memorials may be made to Twin City Bible Church or Trellis Supportive Care.
