Samuel Lewis (Sam) Baldwin, 76, of Sanders Creek Rd., Dillwyn, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Rebecca Ruth Beasley Baldwin.
Born in Campbell County, on July 24, 1934, he was a son of the late Samuel Monroe and Lillian Danielson Baldwin. Sam was a member of Glory Baptist Church, a plumber, and a US Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donnie L. and Stella Baldwin of Gladstone; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Grey Luna of Dillwyn; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith and Gene Davis of Madison Heights and Doris and Kenneth Baldwin of Lynchburg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011, in Glory Baptist Church by the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church, Sheppards, VA with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and V.F.W. #9855 combined honor guard.
The family will receive friends at Glory Baptist Church, Sunday, Jan. 2, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
