Sally Bartley Shaffer

Sally Kathryn Bartley Shaffer, 72, of Appomattox, VA passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Farmville Health and Rehab. She was the wife of Harley R. Shaffer.

Born on December 15, 1953, in Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jack Bartley and Alma Saunders Bartley. She was a member of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for adults. Sally loved her church family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Karin S. Robertson and husband, Curt, Waylon Shaffer, and Emily Shaffer; two grandchildren, Gavyn Robertson and Makenna Robertson; sister, Gladys Tonkin; and “sister by choice”, Flyn Meese and husband, Jim.

She was preceded in death by two children, an infant baby, and son, Larry Shaffer.

A funeral service will be held 2pm, Monday, April 13, 2026, at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Schwerdtfeger officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
