Sadie Marie Mayberry Hamlett, 73, of Promise Land Rd., Appomattox, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Friday, December 13, 2013, in Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Robert Gordon Hamlett.
A lifetime resident of Appomattox, she was born on September 5, 1940, a daughter of the late Nellie Elizabeth Mann and George William Mayberry. She was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church and a retired seamstress for Courtland Manufacturing.
She is survived by a son, Michael Hamlett and wife, Cindy of Appomattox; two daughters, Brenda H. Wilson and husband, Edward of Concord, and Tina H. Baldwin and husband, Thomas of Pamplin; three grandsons, T. W. Baldwin, Robert Mann, and M. J. Hamlett; three brothers, Billy Mayberry and wife, Barbara of Winter Springs, FL, Ralph Mayberry and wife, Barbara Jean of Appomattox, and Fred Mayberry and wife, Dorothy of Madison Heights; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Milton Mayberry.
Marie was a loving caregiver to her parents and helped to care for many children in the community.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mike and Cindy Hamlett.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2013, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Bishop Robert Phillips and the Rev. Donald Martin. Burial will follow in Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
