Obituary

Patrick "Pat" Shawver, 82, of Rough Creek Road, Pamplin, passed into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at his home.

Born in Beckley W.V., June 25 th , 1935, he was a son of the late Doris Shawver Bryant and Joe Ellison. Pat was a member of Rocks Baptist Church in Appomattox. He was a Korean War veteran having served in both the Navy and the Air Force and a retired auto body mechanic from Kerr Tire in Lynchburg, Va. In his free time, Pat loved to fish and play golf.

He is survived by one daughter; Lynn Shawver-Kidd and husband, James, Jr. of Pamplin; two sons, Patrick P. Shawver of Albany, N.Y. and Leslie P. Shawver, and wife, Kim of Madison Heights; three step-children, David L. Hodge, Jr., and wife, Wanda of Hartsville, S.C., Mitch Hodge and wife, Angie of Goode, Va., Melinda Hodge Davis and husband, Johnny of Hartsville, S.C.; 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two wives, Carol Sue Shawver and Patricia Hodge Shawver respectively.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Rocks Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Lee officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the residence.
