Russel Eugene Marlett, 84, of Spring Grove Road, Spout Spring, died at his residence Thursday morning June 4, 2015. He was the husband of the late Ruth Irene Gobrecht Marlett.

Russ was born in Dean, PA, October 17, 1930 a son of the late Ella Conrad and Patrick Henry Marlett. He was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a veteran of the Korean War, and retired from General Electric as an Electrical Engineer. Russ was a Master Eagle Scout, he entertained thousands of children as Santa Claus and for over 20 years his real passion was his farm.

He is survived by two brothers, James Marlett and George Marlett both of Altoona,PA; two sisters, Barbara Capute of Spout Spring; Rose Potter and husband, Homer of Cocoa, Fl; 25 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews including niece, Cindy Goldberg and husband, Gary of Appomattox and nephew, Robert Luke and wife, Trisha of Greensboro, NC.

Russ was preceded in death by thirteen siblings including a sister, Dora Mae Luke.

A Prayer Service will be held 11 am Monday June 8, 2015 at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Monsignor J. Kenneth Rush. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 pm Sunday June 7, 2015.
