Ruby Rogers Williamson, 88, of Police Tower Road, Appomattox, died Wednesday evening October 1, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of Elbert Lee (Teany) Williamson for 72 years.

Ruby was born in Viola, TN February 4, 1926 a daughter of the late Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smartt and Dillard Rogers. Ruby was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 32 years; a retired retail manager and a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, Elbert (Teany) she is survived by four children, E. Leroy Williamson and wife, Rosa of Lynchburg; Brenda W. Coleman and husband, Ronnie of Appomattox; Barbara W. Falwell and husband, Terry of Lynchburg and Susan W. Phelps of Appomattox. She was a loving "MeMe" to 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

The family wishes to thank Centra Hospice of Lynchburg and her devoted caretaker Diane Marsh.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 4, 2014 in Old Herman Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Tom Barker and the Rev. Chris Kesler.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
