Ruby Ferguson Williams, 85, of Richmond, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Westport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was twice married to the late Charles Terrence Newman and the late Kenneth Eugene Williams.

Born in Appomattox County, Va., on September 9, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Minnie Gilbert and John Robert Ferguson. She was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church. Ruby was a wonderful cook, homemaker and talented seamstress. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Andrea N. and David Blackwell of Yorktown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Alan and Deborah Newman of Prince George and Charles Michael and Cary Newman of Glen Allen; five grandchildren, David Blackwell, Jr., John Blackwell, Kerry B. Thomas, Jeremy Newman, and Elizabeth Shumate; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Candler of Gladys; three sisters-in-law, Ava Ferguson of Appomattox, Edith McCormick of Spout Spring and Elise Graves of Hurt; two step-children, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Adam Tyler. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
