Appomattox – Ruby Jenkins Webb, 84 of Lee-Grant Avenue died Friday January 4, 2008 at The Carrington. She was the widow of George Monroe Webb.
Ruby was born in Appomattox County January 11, 1923 a daughter of the late Mattie Beard and Harry Wellington Jenkins. She was a retired employee of Appomattox Garment Co. and a member of Hollywood Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol W. Goin and her husband, Marshall and Gail W. Craft and her husband, Willie both of Appomattox; eleven grandchildren, Lorna G Eriksen and her husband Tommy of Matthews, Va, M. DeWitt Goin of Appomattox, Beverly G. Torrence and her husband Matthew, of Appomattox, Denise W. Franklin and her husband Danny of Kyle, TX, Timothy M. Webb and his wife JoAnna of Appomattox, Tony Webb of Lynchburg, Rebecca and her husband, Darrell Paulette of Appomattox, Brandy Goff and her husband Patrick of Lynchburg; Todd Craft and his wife Betty of Appomattox, Kristi Adair and her husband, Marshall of Rocky Gap, Va Keith Webb of Lynchburg; 21 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen J. Baldwin of Appomattox.
The family is very appreciative of the good care given to Ruby at The Carrington by the nurses and aides on the Skilled Care Floor and the assistance given by Hospice.
She was preceded in death by two sons, James M. Webb, Otis Allen Webb and a brother Robert P. Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Hollywood Baptist Church, by the Rev. Wes Williams and Rev. Bob Millis, with burial following at the Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Saturday evening, January 5, 2008 from 7:00-8:30 pm and other times at the home of W.H. and Gail Craft, 371 South Fork Rd.
