Ruby Christine Wegner Thomas, 86, of Appomattox died Friday afternoon August 14, 2015 at Lynchburg Health and Rehab. She was the widow of Edward Lee Thomas, Jr.
Ruby was born in Buckingham Co., August 2, 1929 a daughter of the late Julia Ward Turner and Frank W. Wegner. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a retired employee of Courtland Manufacturing.
Ruby is survived by her children, Russell Thomas and wife, Debbie of Lynchburg; Dennis Thomas and wife, Peggy Sue of Concord; Janet T. Datillio and husband, John of South Burlington, VT; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Wegner and four sisters, Elsie Harris, Margaret Faulkner, Doris Kienchin and Myrtle Witt.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday August 17, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Ron Moore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
