Ruby Jennings Staton, 84, of Appomattox, died October 12, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born in Red House, Va., on September 26, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Addie Florence Rowland and George Robert Jennings. She was a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist and retired from Thomasville Furniture.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Staton: a sister, Ruth Mullins of Red House; a niece, Sheila Mullins; and a nephew, Lt. Col. William Franklin Jennings, Jr.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin "Red" Jennings.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. David Drinkard. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
