Ruby Watson Scruggs Rosen, 77, of Buckingham, went to heaven to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on November 5, 2008.
Born in Buckingham County, May 18, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Irvy and Isabel Day Watson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John William Scruggs. She is survived by her devoted second husband of 26 years, Howard L. Rosen; three sons, John Scruggs, Jr. and his wife, Patsy of Dillwyn, Steve Scruggs, and his wife, Phyllis of Keysville, Ronnie Scruggs and his wife, Kim of Buckingham; one daughter, Trisha Gallamore and her husband, Chuck of Buckingham; seven grandchildren, Tracy Shumaker, Jay Scruggs, Rachel Whitehead, Ashley Scruggs, Meagan Scruggs, "Bo" Scruggs, and Brittany Gallamore; four great grandchildren; two step-children, Howard Rosen, Jr. of Dillwyn and Dianne Catlin and her husband, Mike of Altavista; three step-grandchildren, Stewart Rosen, Travis Rosen, and Angela Whorley; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Jamerson of Buckingham, Elois Agee-Woodard and her husband, Wayne of Bentonville; three nieces and five nephews.
Ruby was known to all who met her as a person who loved her family dearly. She was a truly generous and giving person, always ready to share her faith and love with family and anyone in need. She was an active member of Union Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, secretary of the WMU, member of the choir, cleaned the church and did all jobs with joy. She graduated as a nursing assistant in March 1974 from Southside Skill Center in Crewe.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, November 8, 2008 in Union Baptist Church by the Rev. Jennings Duncan and the Rev. Jimmy Dunn. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Friday from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the home of Ronnie and Kim Scruggs, 3876 Mt. Rush Hwy.
