Obituary

Ruby Booth Ferguson, 87, of Old Grist Mill Road, Appomattox died at her residence on Saturday morning, May 28, 2011. She was the widow of Allen Tucker Ferguson.

Ruby was born in Campbell County, on May 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Lila Atwell Mills and Otis Farr Booth. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a retired employee of Appomattox Garment Co.

She is survived by a brother, Henry Booth and his wife, Helen of Lynchburg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ervil, Lyle, Roy, Malvin, and Luther Booth and five sisters, Grace Nash, Hazel Goff, Ethel Harris, Susie Marsh, and Erma Booth.

The family will receive friends at New Hope Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral services will be conducted at noon, on Monday, May 30, 2011, at the church by the Rev. Ronnie Rogers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Centra Hospice for their care and concern for Ruby and her family and to her special caregiver and friend, Mary Elliott for her attentiveness to Ruby's every need.
