Pamplin: Ruby Ferguson Covington, 93, of Rt. 1, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 in Appomattox Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Henry Judson Covington.
Born in Appomattox County, May 15, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Winston and Lillie Morris Ferguson. Ruby was a longtime member of Elon Baptist Church and a member of the Woman's Missionary Union, the Extension Homemakers, and the Farm Bureau.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Henry Earl and Jean Covington of Appomattox; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia C. and John Dickens of Harrisonburg; five grandchildren, Cindy Burnette, Christina Covington, Brittany Covington, Elizabeth Dickens, Caroline Dickens and a great granddaughter, Renny Burnette.
She was preceded in death by a son, E. M. "Eddie" Covington; three sisters, Fannie Schampel, Rachel Childers, Madeline Inge; and two brothers, David Ferguson and Nathaniel Ferguson.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 29, 2005, at Elon Baptist Church by the Rev. Andrew Matthews. Burial will follow in the Swan Family Cemetery, Pamplin.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Thursday from 7-8:30 PM.
