Roy Dempsey Hopkins, Jr., 59, of Appomattox, died Friday, November 11, 2022.  He was the loving husband of Cindy O'Brien Hopkins.

Born in Richmond, March 5, 1963, he was a son of the late Delories Tanner Hopkins and Roy Dempsey Hopkins, Sr.  Roy was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.  He retired from the Appomattox Sheriff's office with over 30 years of service.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Maghan Hopkins Kerr and husband, Travis and Kaitlyn Hopkins Dill and husband, Brett all of Appomattox; one brother, William H. "Billy" Hopkins; three sisters, Shirley Westrich and husband, Ron, Linda Lloyd and husband, Rick and Wanda Cifers and husband Leo; four grandchildren, Tanner Kerr, Greyson Kerr, Evie Dot Kerr and Ayven Dill.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Bentley Dale Kerr; and one sister, Elayne Ross and husband, Lemore.

A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Evergreen Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Estes and Kent Hancock officiating.
