Roy Curtis Fishpaw, 88, of Lynchburg died Monday, October 29, 2018, at his residence.
Born in Berryville, Va., on August 4, 1930, he was a son of the late Helen Curtis and Charles Roy Fishpaw. Roy served his country for 22 years in the US Navy and in the US Coast Guard; retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He had a love for nature and was well known to many for his self-taught profession making custom gun stocks and grips. He was a member of the Concord Volunteer Fire Department and Indian Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Singleton Fishpaw; his children, Charles (Sonny) Fishpaw, Linda Fishpaw Carey and husband Danny, Sherri McMillion and husband Larry, Charles (Chuck) Falwell, Jr. and wife Andrea, and Chris Falwell and wife Cheri; eight grandchildren, Shannon Carey Stokes, Erin Carey Whitted, Joseph Fishpaw, Samantha Fishpaw, Adam McMillion, Sarah McMillion, Gavyn Falwell, and Tori Falwell; three great-grandchildren, Braxton Carey, Hunter Stokes, and Haiden Falwell; a brother, Robert (Bobby) Fishpaw; and a sister, Harriet Hendrick.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Wood and a brother, Billy Fishpaw.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Friday, November 2, 2018, at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Jim Stevens and Pastor David Heerspink. Burial will follow in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
