Roy Atwell Booth, 84, of Narrow Passage Road, Spout Spring, died Friday morning, April 23, 2010, at his residence. For 64 years he and his wife, Beulah Cheatham Booth shared their lives together.
Born September 23, 1925 in Campbell Co., he was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry in 1987 after 36 years of service and was a lifelong farmer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Norman and Linda Booth, Allan and Wanda Booth; and one daughter and her husband, Janet and Randy Foster, all of Spout Spring; two brothers, Luther Booth and Henry Booth and his wife, Helen, all of Lynchburg; two sisters, Ethel Harris, of Evington and Ruby Ferguson and her husband Tucker, of Appomattox; seven grandchildren, Terry Booth and his wife, Audrey, Andy Booth and his wife, Sonya, Chris Booth, Kelly Mann and her husband, Billy, Timmy Booth and his wife, Dorothy, Jeremy Trent and Randy Trent and his wife, Cassie; seven great-grandchildren, Makalee Booth, Kade Booth, Madi Booth, Kenley Booth, Paisley Mann, Levi Mann, Madi Grace Foster; one great-niece, Catherine Berry and her children, Ryan and Carter.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervil, Lyle and Malvin Booth, and four sisters, Gracie Nash, Hazel Goff, Susie Marsh and Erma Booth.
The family would like to especially thank Roy's care givers, Wanda Walker, Melissa Ratliff, Tammy Riddle, and Phyllis Winfrey for their love and concern during his illness.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 25, 2010, in Reedy Spring Baptist Church by the Rev John Muth with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The visitation will begin at 2:00 pm in the church until time of the service.
