Obituary

Ronald Wayne "Butch" Harris, 66, of Spout Spring, died Saturday, April 23, 2016. He was the loving husband of Barbara Brooks Stinnette for 31 years.

Born in Appomattox, December 10, 1949, he was a son of June "Jana" Scott Wilmouth and the late Robert Wallace Harris. Butch was a Mechanic/Electrician for Georgia Pacific and a farmer. He was a member of Agee Hunt Club and served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Lori Anne Yerdon and husband Craig of Enterprise, AL and Greg Harris of Salem; two brothers, Mike Harris and wife, Pat of Richmond, Bobby Harris and wife, Jane of Appomattox; a sister, Becky Tilson and husband, Mac of McKenny; three grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Davis, Hannah Lynn Davis and Hope Anne-Marie Yerdon; step father, Robert Wilmouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and David Harris.

A graveside service will be held 1p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Harris Family Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Walker officiating with military rite accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his mother on North Creek Road, Appomattox.
