Ronald Coleman "Ronnie" Guthrie, 71, of Brookneal, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Barbara Ferguson Guthrie for 50 years.

Born in Lynchburg, VA, on June 15, 1954, he was the son of the late Laura Captola Berkley Guthrie and the late Coleman Evans Guthrie. He loved his job and co-workers at Sentry Equipment. He enjoyed farming, camping, gardening, and being DJ Ron with Party Tyme.

He was a loving husband, father, and papa. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and his friends. Ronnie put his family above everything.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Ronald Dustin "Dusty" Guthrie and wife, Alison of Moneta, and Cherie Oleana Haskins and husband, Timmy of Appomattox: three grandchildren, Justin Oneal Haskins, Tyler Oneal Haskins, and Jacob Cole Haskins; brother-in-law, Lloyd Thomas "Tracy" Ferguson Jr. and wife, Susan; and special friends, Adam Vinoskey and Jeff Trail.

He adored his fur babies, Boo Bear and Layla; his grand-fur-babies, Zoey Guthrie and Snickerdoodle Haskins; and special fur baby, Marley Guthrie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Lloyd Tracey Ferguson; and mother-in-law, Claudia Ann Deavers.

A funeral will be held at 2 pm, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Gerald Payne. A private family burial will follow in the Guthrie Family Cemetery.
