Roger Lee "Sugar" Durie, 67 of Gala Lake Road, Spout Spring, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Joyce "Sugar" Nash Durie.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on November 3, 1949, he was a son of the late Lucille Page and Charles Thomas Durie. He was retired and a member of Victory Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sisters, Linda D. Wood and husband, Rocky of Evington, Dianne D. Saucedo and Stan of Lynchburg, and Teresa D. Eubank and husband, Ronnie of Madison Heights; a brother, Ronnie G. Durie and wife, Edith of Lynchburg; a daughter, Terresa Falls and husband, G. W. of Amherst; two grandchildren, Amanda and Liam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff Worley with burial following in the Red Oak Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
