Roberta Robertson Coleman, 87, of Oakleigh Ave., Appomattox, joined her Lord and Savior on the 26th of December, 2011. Roberta was a tender and loving example to her family, church, and friends.

Born in Appomattox County, on December 18, 1924, she was the second of four daughters of the late David North and Ruth Coleman Robertson. Roberta was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church and a retired seamstress with Courtland Manufacturing. She shared her love of gardening, cooking, and sewing with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, L. Kyle Coleman; two children, Joan C. Wooldridge and her husband, Gary of Forest and Warren K. Coleman and his wife, Judi of Richmond; five grandchildren, Kyle Coleman and wife, Melissa, David Coleman, Katie Coleman, Eric Wooldridge, and Lauren Wooldridge; two great-grandchildren, June and Benjamin Coleman; two sisters, Elizabeth R. Quinn of Appomattox, and Eulelia R. Evans and husband, Bernard of Charlottesville; and a brother-in-law, Abbitt Coleman and his wife, Helen. She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie R. Goodrich.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wes Williams with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, Wednesday night, December 28, 2011.
