Robert Donald (Duck) Roach, 85, of Pamplin, died in Lynchburg General Hospital Tuesday, February 22, 2011. His wife was the late Evelyn V. Roach

Born in Roanoke, VA, on June 28, 1925, he was a son of the late Robert Edward and Nellie Inge Roach. Donald was a member of Rocks Baptist Church, H&P Hunt Club and was retired from Evans & Nash Construction Co.

He is survived by his two daughters, Martha R. Price of Winfall, VA and Linda R. Price of Pamplin; one son, Donald E. Roach of Pamplin; one sister, Sandra R. McIntosh (Glenn) of Pamplin; three brothers, W. Rodney Roach (Annie) of Lovingston, Stanley B. Roach of Pamplin, John R. Roach (Lou) of Appomattox; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Jean R. Williams.
A memorial service will be held on Friday February 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Rocks Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Moore and the Rev. David Brown.
A time of visitation will take place at the church following the service.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Sandra and Glenn McIntosh, 1648 Bowler Creek Rd.
