Robert (Bobby) Miles Cheatham, 74, of Salem Road, Spout Spring, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Dolores Dinkins Cheatham.

Born in Appomattox County, on January 5, 1938, he was a son of the late William W. and Frances Miles Cheatham. He was a US Army veteran, a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church and Reedy Creek Hunt Club, and retired from R. R. Donnelley. Bobby loved hunting, fishing and farming.

In addition to his wife, Dolores, he is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Cheatham of Spout Spring and Carolyn C. Muniz and husband, Hector of Stafford, VA; a son, Jimmy Cheatham of Spout Spring; one granddaughter, Heather A. Cheatham; two great grandchildren, Tay and Cord; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Frances Cheatham, James and Juanita Cheatham, Thacker and Marie (Sis) Cheatham, Marshall and Sarah Cheatham, Ralph and Shirley Cheatham all of Spout Spring, H. T. and Delores Cheatham of Appomattox; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Buddy New of Williamsburg, Susie Nuckles, Joyce and Larry Sayre all of Spout Spring, and Peggy and Billy Moore of Appomattox; a sister-in-law, Jackie W. Cheatham of Rock Hill, SC; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy F. Cheatham.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Reedy Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. John Muth. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
