Obituary
Robert Allen Hand, 74, of Patteson School Road, Appomattox, died Thursday May 21, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara Sorensen Hand.
Robert was born in Newark, NJ September 22, 1940 a son of the late Dorothy Amelia Fairchild Hand and Harold Russell Hand. He was a retired mechanic employed by Nestle Beverage Co., Freehold, NJ for 20 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children. Robin Stillings and husband, John of Long Branch,NJ; Anne George and husband, Robert of Spout Spring; Frances Parkinson and husband, John of Hazlet, NJ; Nicholas DiGiora and wife, Gail of Manalapan,NJ; Rocco DiGiora of Appomattox; Niels Rech of Chase City; Barbara Stoddard and Tim Householder of Drakes Branch; a brother, Frank Erickson of Union, NJ; two sisters, Joyce Leto and husband, Charles of Ocala,FL and Mary Venezia and husband, William of Cliffwood,NJ; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death two sisters, Arlene Wallace Kern and Dolores Armstrong.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
