Robert Ray "Sleepy" Eagle, 39, of Richmond Highway, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016. He was the loving husband of Dana Thompson Eagle.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on September 29, 1976, he was the son of Cassie Presnell and the late Bobby Ray Eagle. Robert worked for Commercial Steel Erection. He had a passion for coaching his boy's baseball teams and spending time hunting.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by three children; Jacob Robert Eagle, Joshua Luke Eagle and Jayden Rae Eagle; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Evelyn and Walter Thompson; step-father, Earl Presnell; half-brother, Terry Eagle and wife, Martha; half-sister, Joan Eagle Floyd and husband, Peter; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dean and Debbie Thompson; a cousin, Mike Driskill whom he considered a brother; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved bloodhound, Duke.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Kay Eagle and a brother, Donnie Ray Eagle.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his residence.
