Robert Otis Doss Sr., 56, of Salem Rd., Spout Spring, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Myrna Mann Doss.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on July 11, 1958, he was a son of the late Edith Baldwin and Robert Lawrence Doss. He worked for Babcock and Wilcox for 30 years, enjoyed fishing, and was loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert Otis (Ty) Doss Jr. and wife, Mary Beth of Lynchburg and Jarrett Brandon Doss and wife, Leigh Ann of Del Rio, TX; five granddaughters, Anna, Claire, Madison, Kinsley, and Emma Doss; two brothers, David L. Doss and wife, Beth of Richmond and Edward W. Doss of Roanoke; a sister, Nancy Marie Page and husband, Dennis of Appomattox; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Page, Ashley Page, Taylor Doss, Sandra Velleca, Cindy and Randy Phelps, and Jenny Lou White and Mike Martin; sisters-in-law, Ellen Seamster and husband, Doug, Dot Fleshman and husband, Gary, and Wanda Doss; aunts and uncles, Nellie Bryant, Barbara Metcalf, Garland and Alice Doss, Bradley and Shirley Baldwin, Elizabeth Baldwin, and Peggy Atkins; his friend, Donald (Papa) Giles; and many cousins as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald M. Doss; uncles and aunt, Cecil and Millie Doss, Bill Baldwin, and Doris and Wesley Weatherholtz; and grandparents, Opal and Robert L. Doss and Nannie and Witt Baldwin.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 and other times at the residence.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Don Colbertson with burial following in Liberty Cemetery.
