Robert "Deno" Deaner, Sr., 82, of Appomattox, went home to Jesus on June 26, 2023. He was a great father, pawpaw, and friend.

Born in Campbell County, February 3, 1941, he was a son of the late Ruth Phelps and William Thomas Deaner.  Robert was a member of Mt. Comfort Methodist Church.  A stubborn man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a very hard worker who retired from Griffin Pipe. Deno always enjoyed Saturday night poker with friends and a good Moore's hot dog. He loved his kids and grandkids and would do anything for them. We find comfort in knowing he's not in pain anymore.

Robert is survived by his five children, Michael Deaner and Crystal Kernen, Ruth Deaner, Petty Waugh and husband Tim, Robert Deaner Jr. and wife, Kathy, and Hope Deaner; 16 grandchildren including, special grandchildren, Jacob Kernen, Michael Deaner II, (Destiny), Brianna Deaner (Paul), Alex Deaner and Nicholas Deaner; and 18 great- grandchildren, including special great-grandchildren, Mickey, Eli, Milo, Marleigh, and Scarlett.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Colton Dunn officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Comfort Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
