Robert Benjamin Davis, 81, of Patrick Henry Highway, Phenix died Wednesday November 12, 2014 at McGuire Veterans Medical Center.
Born in Appomattox County, Va. on September 18, 1933, he was a son of the late Martha Gunter and James Robert Davis. Robert was a member of Glory Baptist Church and was a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by a son, Robert A. Foster Sr. of Effort, PA; one daughter, Dorothy Parker and husband, Stuart of Mocksville, NC; two sisters, Betty Elliott and husband, Curtis and Shirley Burnette all of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Robert Foster Jr., John Parker, Rose Ann Davis, Walter Davis and Jessie Foster; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Anderson and Darrin Foster.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred "Monk", Clarence and Harold Davis and one sister, Mary D. Morris.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 in The Veterans Cemetery at Amelia by the Rev. Chris Brooks officiating with Military Rites provided by the US Army.
