Robert (Bill) Billy Crawford, 85, of Pamplin, passed away on Sunday evening, August 4 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Peggy Hughes Crawford.
Born in Marion, VA on April 17, 1928, he was a son of the late Georgia Crawford. Bill served 28 years in the US Army, retiring with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He was then employed with the Newport News Sheriff's Department.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Williams and husband, Bruce of Pamplin and Kimberley Lee of Appomattox; two granddaughters, Tori Rothgeb and husband Justin and Hillarie Holder; a great- grandson, Braylon and great-granddaughter, Reagan all of Appomattox; a brother, Edward Crawford of St. Stephen, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News by James Hughes.
