Appomattox: Robert Scott "Bobby" Chenault, 75, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in the Medical Care Center. He was the husband of the late Nancy Oxford Chenault.
Born in Lynchburg, October 12, 1931, he was a son of the late Willie Louise Mann and Samuel Ernest Chenault. Bobby was a member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church, a US Army veteran, a inductee of the Appomattox Sports Hall of Fame and was active in coaching youth sports leagues for many years. He retired from Limitorque where he had worked as a machinist for over 30 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Kim Chenault; a son, Robert Kent Chenault both of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Dana, Brandin and Austin; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Fay and Kirby Mottley of Farmville, Jane Chandler and Jim of Burkeville, Mary and Ed Bailey of Phenix and Martha and Harry McCormick, Jr. of Gladstone and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jay B. Chenault; a daughter, Brandy E. Chenault; three brothers, Billy, Bud, and Gene Chenault and a sister, Kay Webber.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Robinson Funeral Home with burial following in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of his daughter, Kim, 3267 Horseshoe Rd.
