Robert Carey Anderson, 80, of Amherst died Monday, May 20, 2013, in Fairmont Crossing. He was born in Amherst County, on July 24, 1932, a son of the late Lenora Wood and Ralph Pearson Anderson. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church of Amherst.

Robert is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Williamson of Appomattox and Mary Jane Moore and her husband, Floyd of Amherst and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph P. Anderson, Jr., Edward T. Anderson, Paul B. Anderson, and Harold M. Anderson and two sisters, Marjorie L. Moore and Nellie G. Andrews.

A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 23, 2013, in New Prospect Baptist Church by the Rev. Craig Taylor and the Rev. Doug Turner. The family will visit with friends at the church following the service.
