Obituary

Richard Dennis Page, 58, of Amy Lane, Appomattox, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at his residence.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on October 24, 1955, he was a son of the late Virginia Lucado Page and George Washington Page. He was a former employee of the Lynchburg Foundry and Griffin Pipe and a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, who also enjoyed the beauty of nature.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Dwayne Page and Matthew Dennis (Matt) Page and wife, Chrystal; one granddaughter, Katelyn Page all of Appomattox; three brothers, Ned Page and wife, Pat of Appomattox, Clyde Page and wife, Cora Mae of Gladstone, and David C. Page and wife, Carolyn of Appomattox; four sisters, Lucille Durie of Lynchburg, Dorothy Harrison of Rustburg, Janie Martin of Sweetwater, TN, and Annie Steele and husband, Bill of Spout Spring; a special friend, Rita Bucknam; his faithful companion of 12 years, his doxie "John John"; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, George B. (Mick) Page and Thomas Lewis Page.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2014, in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Jonathan Watson.
