Pamplin: Raymond Anderson Moore, 81, of 1562 Rocks Church Rd., died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Gwen Mary Loomis Moore.
Born in Montgomery, WV, April 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Walter Roy and Lockie Anderson Moore. Mr. Moore was a Professor Emeritus at the College of Forestry at Syracuse University. He served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of the Forest Products Research Society, the American Society for Testing and Materials, and the American Wood Preservers Association.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Martha J. Hall and husband, Richard of San Marcos, CA, Korie Haff and husband, Richard of Cape Coral, FL and Melinda L. Moore of San Marcos, CA; a son, David Moore Yarrow of Greenbush, NY; a sister, Elizabeth Launi and husband, Charles of Myrtle Beach, SC; two step-daughters, Kathryn Shirley and husband, Myron of Mexico, NY and Karen Waack and husband, Daniel of North Syracuse, NY; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm, Firday (5-12-06)at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Chris Harbin and the Rev. Tom Jones. Following the service the family will receive friends at the funeral home until 8:30 pm.
