Obituary

Evergreen: Raymond Roscoe Carrico, 72, of 6218 Old Evergreen Rd., died Thursday, March 9, 2006, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Jean Evelyn Womack Carrico.
Born in Appomattox County, June 4, 1933, he was the son of Claude William and Evelyn Almond Carrico. Mr. Carrico retired as a superintendent with English Construction. He was an US Navy Veteran, serving his country proudly during the Korean War, and a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and a daughter, Michael R. Carrico and wife, Robin of Chesapeake, Donald W. Carrico, Sr. and wife, Penny of Evergreen and Shelia C. McElroy and husband, Vince of Brookneal; seven grandchildren, Christy Jean Mann, Kristie Harvey, Dawn Ford, Donald Carrico, Jr., Daniel Carrico, Clayton McElroy and Jonathon McElroy; six great grandchildren and a sister, Lury Weatherholtz of Toledo, OH.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Carrico.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Earnie Lucas and the Rev. Cliff Jordon. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7:00 – 8:30 pm and at other times at the residence.
