Elbert Ray (Crow) Hensley, 64, of Merriman Shop Rd., Pamplin, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Jackie Mae Woody Hensley.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on December 16, 1949, he was a son of Mildred Juanita Harris Hensley of Appomattox and the late Thomas Emery Hensley. Ray was a truck driver.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two son and daughters-in-law, Norman Ray and Tammy Hensley of Drakes Branch and Steven Ray and Stephanie Hensley of Pamplin; a daughter, Teresa Dawn Hensley of South Hill; nine grandchildren, Patrick Hunter, Travis, Katie, Jessica, Tiffany, Brittney, Susan, Karis, and Hanna Hensley; one great-granddaughter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Logan and Barbara Hensley of Appomattox and Thomas Clayton and Marie Hensley of Evergreen; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Ann and Richard Keen and Barbara Jane and Howie D'Allesandro all of Evergreen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in the Lipscomb Family Cemetery by Pastor Freddy Wells.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 22, from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
